I finally filled up my internal 2GB drive and purchased a 2TB external drive today. The Western Digital Passport is $74.99 and was discounted an additional $10 when I chose standard shipping. This should look nice attached to my PS4: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LQQHF2W/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LQQHF2W/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER)
Good deal. Outside of the one hiccup when FW 5.0 dropped, my external has worked flawlessly.
Love to just keep downloading games I'll never come close to finishing.

Can I choose to have my saves on the internal drive and just store the game installs on the external?
I don't think that is an option. I want to say that's where they all end up, though.
My drive came today and game data/saves can only be saved to internal storage (which I like). You can then set which drive is used as the default storage location for game installations with the ability to move that data from one to another.
I was surprised to find out that the PS4 doesn't have a USB port in the back. I'm not happy about having to plug the drive into the front of my console.
Pro model has a third usb round the back. I like a third input sometimes, you know. :))
