I didn't sign up, and yet was chosen for the beta.
VIP status CONFIRMED 8)
You suck :P
I signed up and wasn't picked.
Dat GT feel...like a comfy old shoe.
Not only did I not get picked for the beta, but I have to be reminded how you've "Played the GT Sport Beta for the first time" every time I go to my PS4 dashboard f::r .
I Live to Give ;D
My excitement for this game just died:
"Instead of offering a traditional car-collecting experience like previous games in the series, Gran Turismo Sport's single player campaign will contain four modes with 150 bite-sized drills to complete: Driving School, Mission Challenge, Circuit Experience, and Racing Etiquette."
Source: TeamVVV.com (https://www.teamvvv.com/en/news/comments/Gran-Turismo-Sports-single-player-content-is-as-limited-as-we-feared)
Not even offering a quick race mode? At least Project Cars 2 will be out this fall too.
Yeah, the next proper GT game will be on PS5, no joke.
This thing coming out should be a $20 all-digital affair.

I couldn't agree more. I hope the sales tank so PD learns a lesson from this.
It's going to be interesting, I think, to see exactly how well received this ends up being.
Polyphony's aim is to gear GT Sport towards online racing to such an extent that if you're clean, courteous and fast enough around other people, you'll be able to qualify for a real, genuine, FIA-sanctioned, real-world racing licence through playing it. That's the kind of thing that appeals to someone like me, even if I don't have the cash to do anything with that licence other than frame it, but it feels a bit like an attempt to do iRacing on console. If it is, it'll likely struggle, since the vast majority of that sim's audience will be playing, um, iRacing.
The other reason it'll likely struggle is that based on the beta, GT Sport deals with collisions in the same way the series has always dealt with them, and it's going to be phenomenally difficult to craft a penalty system that's robust or fair enough to adequately combat the inevitable, deliberately crashy consequences of that. We will see, I suppose, but as one who has never thought of GT as anything other than a single player experience and who doesn't subscribe to PS Plus, I'm not sure there's going to be a lot here for me.
GT Sport basically doesn't function unless connected online. https://arstechnica.co.uk/gaming/2017/10/gran-turismo-sport-offline-mode/ (https://arstechnica.co.uk/gaming/2017/10/gran-turismo-sport-offline-mode/)

...and that is exactly why I'm not buying it. I've been having a blast with Assetto Corsa anyway.
I don't know what GT Sports' sales are, but I wonder if it had anything to do with this: GT Sport Offline Mode and More... (https://blog.us.playstation.com/2017/11/22/gran-turismo-sport-incoming-updates-add-new-cars-offline-play-gt-league-more/)
GT Sport is now on sale for $40 on PSN. I'm considering it with the offline patch coming out next month.
I gotta see more, but a good sign as far as content. Price drop was inevitable, nothing stays full price for very long anymore.
I think I'm gonna pass on it. I had forgotten about having to be online to just save your profile. I'm always online anyway, but I don't like it being required.

No, gonna wait a bit more.
I have to admit that I was wrong about GT Sport. They haven't even released the single-player career mode and this is still the only game I've played since I got it. I've been doing the single races and trial mode only to level up and earn some cash. Right now I'm at level 12 (very close to 13) and need to reach level 20 to unlock all the tracks.
I've been gifted most of my cars by reaching the daily mileage goals every day, but I'm hoping to earn another $100K to buy my first GT3 class car. I wish they had more car upgrade options other than just color/liveries and tires. I have some decent starter cars in my garage that I would've loved to invest in.
That GT feel is something to behold. I played a little GT6 on the PS3 the other day, and it sucks you right in.
Level 18 and hoping for the big update soon with December halfway over.
The single-player campaign update arrived today along with some other stuff:

Bought a Corvette, I'm good to go. Seriously, this may be the best looking game I've ever played.
The game is definitely a looker. I can only imagine how good it looks on the Pro. It's hard playing Nascar Heat 2, which had bad graphics to begin with, after playing so much GT Sport.
The best way to get new cars is to complete the daily workout of driving at least 25 miles in any mode. There are nights, like tonight, that I'll go on just to run 15 time-trial laps at Blue Moon Bay just to get my free car. Unfortunately, you can receive the same gift car more than once. It's a shame there's no sharing feature like Forza so I could gift you some of my duplicate cars.
Can you sell the dupes for much?

Just short of reaching level 25 and received my achievement for 24 hours of gameplay last night. I would never have imagined that I'd invest so much time into this game. I also have a new favorite car: The Renault Sport R.S.01 GT3
I'm now at 1100 hours in The Division. Keep driving, funboy :))
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you got your money's worth out of that game.

Another big update coming on July 30th:The 1.22 patch for GT Sport will add 7 new cars to the game, a new track, and more. Further details are absent for now, but fans are already speculating on the cars that will be added via the new update. The Mazda 787B appears to be obvious for fans of the car, while the Ferrari 250 GTO seems to be included as well.
Like previous updates, a new track will be included with the update, and this track will be set in Southern France. Additionally, the patch will also offer the option to customize driver gear.

The fact that you can get this game for 20 bucks is insane.
I've posted in this thread once, and that one post was from a man sounding pretty confident that he wouldn't be buying GT Sport.
You know already, of course, what happened next.
With the caveat that you really need to attain a sportsmanship rating of S before you're free of the first lap heroes trying to win it all within 3 turns of the start, the online racing is a dream. The offline experience is fleshed out now, with the standard assortment of GT cups and trophies, and the level of post-release support has been astonishing.
It'd be nice to have a bit more feel on the brakes, where I'm still struggling to consistently find the sweet spot between "a bit too gentle" and "you've locked up and driven into a hedge", and a few more classic GT layouts would be great (Trial Mountain! Deep Forest!), but really I'm nit-picking somewhat. As a package, this thing is terrific.
Another new track is coming this Thursday.

Who could have seen that coming ;) . I'm thinking Cyberpunk's failed launch has made companies even more cautious.
On a positive note, they are releasing an update for GT Sport tomorrow (2/24).
COVID has wreaked havoc on release timetables, as well. Most major titles are, or are going to be, delayed.
