Title: DualShock 4 Changes
Post by: Jason on January 07, 2015 @ 10:25 PM
Apparently Sony made some small adjustments to their new DS4 controllers including better analog grips, a different battery (3.7V to 3.65V) and a new wireless antenna. Here's how you can tell if you have an updated controller:

Original FCC ID: AK8CUHZCT1
New FCC ID: AK8CUHZCT1F1

Now if they could make a controller that has Trigger rumble/feedback. I miss that so much from the Xbox One controller and would gladly trade in my existing PS4 controllers for this.

My PS4 came with the older controller too but the trigger grips are definitely different than the ones of my son's launch PS4 dual shocker controller. His are softer and more rubbery.

I ordered my son the Wave Blue DS4 controller from Amazon and it is indeed the newer model. I'm thinking that's going to be my controller now ;).
