Wired.com talked to Mark Cerny about the Playstation 5 in their new article: What to Expect from Sony's Next-Gen Playstation

The big news for me was confirmed Playstation 4 backwards compatibility. I'm guessing the PS4 games will look just as good or better than the PS4 Pro versions. This alone will commit me to the PS5 next generation.

Well yeah, I need this backlog to continue through the next gen and beyond.

Yep. We'll be able to have a two-generation backlog of PS4 and PS5 games all on one console.
