Just FYI, in the () after the games, the consoles are listed in order of most sales.  The Xbox 360 is still a software selling machine.

On a related note, MS has once again dropped the Xbox One price $50.  Guess they saw a sharp decline the last few weeks they brought the price back up to $399.

They better refund all the people who bought a console between 1/1 and today.

Impressive victory for Sony with Microsoft going back to the $349 price point midway through the month. Sony's been offering some good deals so far this month so February's results should be interesting to see.

In regards to Dying Light, January is definitely the month to release a game if you don't want it getting lost in the shuffle. Kind of surprising to see Call of Duty ahead of GTA though. I guess more people are buying CoD on last-gen consoles than GTA since GTA for XB360 and PS3 came out over a year ago.

Brad Company

Yeah, nice surprise to see Dying Light #1.  I think the CoD sales were also because the game was almost universally discounted to $40.
In the Grand Scheme of the CoDiverse, it has sold less than half of Black Ops 2.

February

NPD Software Results:

    1. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D (3DS) (515,000 copies sold digitally and physically)
    2. Evolve (Xbox One, PS4, PC)
    3. Dying Light (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
    4. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, PC)
    5. Grand Theft Auto V (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)

    7. Dragon Ball: Xenoverse (PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360)
    8. Minecraft (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4)
    9. The Order: 1886 (PS4)
    10. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS) (290,000 copies sold digitally and physically)

In-Depth NPD report on Software sales:

Nintendo is probably feeling pretty great right now. Zelda, one if its top franchises, outsold everything else in February. That includes two major new releases. This is good news for the company, which is going to release a brand new Zelda for the Wii U later this year that it is positioning as a system-selling game.

The two big new games that Zelda beat are Evolve and The Order: 1886. Evolve came out on Feb. 10, while The Order only had a week of sales after debuting Feb. 20. While both made the top 10, it feels like both didn’t perform as well as they should have. The Order was hammered with critical reviews, which likely hurt its sales.

In terms of surprises, Dying Light, which debuted in January, continues to sell well. The zombie-survival game is performing a lot like developer Techland’s previous game in this genre, Dead Island.

NPD Hardware Results:

    - 395k 3DS Family Best-Selling Platform (N3DS XL, 3DS XL, 2DS, 3DS)
    - PS4 Best-Selling Home Console
    - ≈276k XBONE
    - ≈94k Wii U

BDSooner72

Once again thrilled to see the success of Dying Light, now get cracking on the sequel.

Jason

Impressive that the PS4 is doing this well without a true AAA exclusive title out yet. Just imagine how well it will sell once God of War, Gran Turismo and Uncharted are all available on it.
