I strongly considering the PC version on Steam since it is on sale for $20.

I'm annoyed at myself for passing this up for only $29.99 after Thanksgiving.

If it was 30 I'd get it on 360.  Maybe it will be soon?  Like 12/26?

Yeah, I'm waiting to see if there's a nice price drop after this weekend. I'd hate to buy it and have the price drop a few days later. I've been keeping my eye on CheapAssGamer.com for after-Christmas sales.

Has a lot of teams from the 80's and 90's.  This is due to the Jordan challange. Pretty much any team he had a big moment or championship  against are in the game.  You too can dunk on my fellow Monterey HS alumn, Craig Ehlo. Most of the starters are in the game but the bench is hit and miss.  For example Kevin Duckworth was a starter for the Portland team in the game but passed away a couple years ago and were not able to include him.

Oh but do not get too excited as these teams can't be used online.  You can use any of these teams in an exhibition though.

How does the Be-A-Pro type mode play?  Is that a good mode?

I have not tried it but from what I have read it is not.  Basically because the player you start out with has horrible ratings and it takes far too long to get him to the pros. On the flip side if you beat the Jordan challenges you unlock the ability to start a be-a-pro career with Jordan and much better ratings.

That doesn't sound too bad.  My biggest complaint with Be-A-Pro modes so far is it is too easy and fast to get to the pros.

I was actually able to make it to the pros pretty quickly.  Your ratings indeed stink to start (and continue to for a while), but you can nevertheless contribute and be effective.  There are some largely inconsequential sub-ratings (like offensive awareness) that would contribute to your overall rating, but because they have little effect there's no reason to put points towards them.  What you end up with is a guy, for example, with a low overall rating, but can still quickly become a good shooter, passer, rebounder, etc.  I've got a point guard that was drafted by the Heat, and it's pretty fun... the only problem with the mode as I see it is that it's irresistible and way too easy to cherry pick.  Just start running down the court as soon as the opponent puts up a shot (especially if you were on the perimeter to start with, like a guard would normally be) and someone will usually find you with a long pass for an easy two.

I've been spending more time lately with a straight Association with the Knicks.  I couldn't play worth a damn with them in year one, but did a lot of work to clear cap space and signed Carmelo in the off-season.  I think we're like 12-3 so far in year two.

What difficulty are you playing your "Association" on? I was getting ready to start one up.  I was thinking 9 minute quarters so I could get some descent scores.

I play on All-Star, simulation settings, and the game's actually involving enough that I do full 12 minute quarters.  If I don't have a lot of time, I'll just play a quarter or a half and then save in-game, so I can come back to it later.

I use 12 minute quarters;I wouldn't go lower than 11 for accurate stats.
