After checking out some golf forums the future of the course creator could be in doubt. It's something EA never had and the ability to sell DLC courses would be hampered by having a Course Creator. On the flip side, they have more money and can afford to license golfers that you can actually play with/against. Though of the two I would rather have the Course Creator by a large margin.
