Title: E3 Thread: Rumors and twiddling thumbs until mid June
Post by: BDSooner72 on May 07, 2015 @ 08:55:45 PM
The time is coming near and rumors are popping.

Fallout 4 to be shown at E3?
http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/05/07/fallout-4-rumor-puts-reveal-at-bethesdas-press-conference (http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/05/07/fallout-4-rumor-puts-reveal-at-bethesdas-press-conference)

So what games is everyone looking forward to or hoping to see?

I need a tennis game, someone make a damn tennis game.  Preferably Top Spin sequel. Interested to see what the new controls are in Madden but they better learn from MLB The Show and keep the old stuff there.  The early shots of Rory PGA Tour have looked great but we need to see this one in motion and more details on the Tour Mode.  Could care less about NHL or NBA.  I would buy a hockey game with college teams and a college basketball game but not holding my breath.  Will be interested to see what is new in FIFA.

Fallout 4 - So many hours put into the Fallout 3 and New Vegas games.
Red Dead Redemption 2 - Need I say more?
Uncharted 4 - Ditto!
Tom Clancy's The Division - Need more info, it looked great in it's showing last year.
No Mans Sky - They have been really quite about this game as of late.
Rise of the Tomb Raider - It is XB1 exclusive but will eventually come to PS4 since it is a timed exclusive.
All of the horror games: Until Dawn, Summer Camp, Friday the 13th, etc, etc.

I'm with you on Tennis. I also want a boxing game. Those are the last sport genres I'm really waiting for this gen.

Where did you hear about new controls in Madden? I'd be interested in hearing what they are planning considering I've been playing the game for 25 years with basically the same control scheme.

I too lost all interest in NBA 2K16 after the Spike Lee announcement. Maybe this will be the year Live wins me back.

Didn't know there was going to be info on Red Dead Redemption 2 so this great news to me. I'd love to hear an announcement of a remastered original too.

Looking forward to the progress on Uncharted and hoping for some Grand Turismo news. I'll also keep an eye on Rise of the Tomb Raider knowing that'll be coming to the PS4 at some point down the road.

Just hoping for Red Dead Redemption 2.  One has to be in the works with as many copies as it sold.  Would also be interested in Bully 2.

Coming spring 2016

“Fiscal 2016 is off to a great start, highlighted by the April launch of Grand Theft Auto V for the PC, which has exceeded our expectations. Throughout the coming year, we will continue to execute our proven strategy of launching a select array of the highest-quality titles, led by new annual releases of NBA 2K and WWE 2K; Battleborn, a groundbreaking new intellectual property from Gearbox Software; and a soon-to-be announced new triple-A title from 2K. We also will continue to deliver innovative offerings designed to promote ongoing engagement with our games and drive recurrent consumer spending. Beyond fiscal 2016, we have a robust development pipeline and our Company is well-positioned to deliver growth and margin expansion over the long-term.”

Possibly Mafia 3 (as Rockstar was not mentioned), which would be cool but I needs the RDR2.

Bethesda has officially revealed Fallout 4 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

The game's official website now shows box art for Fallout 4 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. This confirms that the next entry is current-gen only, and will not be released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Although it also features a video, presumably with a cinematic trailer, this is not available to watch yet. The video is scheduled to go live 7 AM PT (3 PM UK time)

Uncharted Collection, kinda saw this one coming.  Would be nice if the Vita game, Uncharted: Golden Abyss was part of the deal.

Battleborn E3 Trailer.  FPS/MOBA/something that looks like Borderlands but with a bunch of characters and more focus toward online play.  Sorry Gearbox, not really feeling it.  Get to work on Borderlands 3.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection officially announced, October 9th

http://youtu.be/rKfRZ1x2nbQ (http://youtu.be/rKfRZ1x2nbQ)

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception in 1080p and 60fps with better lighting, textures, and models, but they’re also working on a range of improvements and additions across all three games. (All three are only Single Player, there is no multiplayer, outside of the access to the UC4 MP beta)

* Buying the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection grants you exclusive access to Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End multiplayer beta (while the beta is available, of course.)

Pretty excited about this. I'll probably finish all three around the time the fourth one comes out.

Wow did you see that Fallout 4 Video?

I did, it was really good. Hyped for it to release

Sure fun to talk about video games.

Agreed.

Are you going to post the videos of the game here?

Why?

Good question.

Great Answer.

Even the Iphone game "Fallout Shelter" looked really cool.

We do not have an Iphone or even a phone that can play andriod games.

I know but there is a chance they might release it for the consoles down the line.

We can only hope.

Back to Fallout 4, how about the crafting system?

Quite possibly one of the most impressive things on display today.

Time to play some Elder Scrolls Online?

Yup, gotta craft a sword for my Nord.

Later me.

Later.

According to the chart you posted a lot of stuff is happening today, yet the official E3 web site says that everything started tomorrow (http://www.e3expo.com/takeover (http://www.e3expo.com/takeover))? Am I reading the chart wrong?

Didn't one of the cable channels (Spike?) carry E3 last year? Does anyone know if that's happening again this year? It's was nice being able to DVR Sony and Microsoft's press conferences and watch them when I got home.

Individual press conference (Microsoft, Ubi, EA and Sony) are today at the respective times listed in the chat.  Nintendo is on Tuesday. Games take up the rest of E3.

That would be correct, also you can stream the whole thing at youtube, IGN and other gaming sites.
https://www.youtube.com/e3?feature=etp-se-e3 (https://www.youtube.com/e3?feature=etp-se-e3)

Fantastic, we are just chalk full of information. Also Spike is not carrying E3 this year on TV.

Agreed we kinda rock.

I was able to watch the Sony and Ubisoft press conferences and caught most of the EA one. Surprisingly enough, NBA Live was the only EA Sports game that impressed me. Need for Speed's graphics looked pretty amazing too.

As expected, EA showed PS4 gameplay from Star Wars Battlefront which was very impressive, but the Battlefront gameplay shown during Sony's press conference blew me away. It literally looked like you were watching real people. This game is by far my most-anticipated title right now.

Ubisoft had a good press conference. Their new IP For Honor and Ghost Recon Wildlands looked great although Rainbow Six Siege and The Division were a little disappointing. I had no interest in AC: Syndicate until I saw the gameplay video which surprisingly wasn't shown during the press conference.

I watched the Sony press conference with my son last night and they started with the impressive The Last Guardian, which is from Team Ico and looked great. I completed Ico on the PS2 and would definitely be interested in playing its spiritual sequel.

Next up was Guerilla Games new IP Horizon: Zero Dawn which was impressive, but the show-stealer was definitely Uncharted 4 which ended the press conference. After the initial controller issues during the show, Sony showed a 5-minute gameplay sequence that included gunfights, fighting and driving. I can honestly say it was the most impressive thing I've ever seen in a video game. The graphics and animations were incredible and even the NPCs seemed so realistic. It could have easily been mistaken for a CGI movie even though it was actual gameplay. Don't take my world for it though, here's the actual video:

http://youtu.be/zL46dpNEPPA (http://youtu.be/zL46dpNEPPA)

I was surprised there wasn't any info on Gran Turismo 7 or any additional gameplay footage of the new Ratchet & Clank game. There were also no Project Morpheus demos which means it may be further down the line than many expected.

I know it's a cliche thing to say, but I think we're finally starting to see what these consoles can do.
