Title: NBA 2K12 Info
Post by: Jason on September 19, 2011 @ 08:00:10 AM
I'm curious to see the improvements in the post game this year.

The reviewers who played the pre-release build have raved about the improvements.
Still can't use the classic teams online, though. I guess the NBA Today feature will be dark with the lockout, too.

Downloaded it this morning. I'm just going to have to force myself to learn the controls in this game. I think I'm missing out on a great game because I've never fully learned the control scheme.

It's about as complicated as a flight simulator to use all of the moves.

I made the mistake of playing the demo a bunch of times tonight and I'm starting to learn a lot of the moves - even post moves. I really don't want to spend any more money on games right now, but I'm really starting to enjoy this one.

Be strong; there will be some good deals on this game around black friday, especially with no NBA season in sight.

My old college buddy and NBA 2K Dreamcast enthusiast is about to take ownership of a PS3, so I think I'm going to pick this one up for Sony's system during the Toys R Us sale this week.

How's the historical stuff laid out this time?  Do they have full teams this time, or is it still the main 5-7 guys with the rest filled out by fictional players?

I'm officially addicted to the demo and can't wait to play with my 94-95 Knicks. Hopefully you can use the legendary teams in "Play Now" mode.

Absolutely loving this game now that I'm learning the controls. The passing is a little off, especially in the paint, but hopefully that's improved with a patch.

Loving it even more now that I unlocked the 94-95 Knicks. Playing as that team brought back so many memories of a time when I loved basketball.

I'm glad they tuned the pass accuracy as that was one of my biggest complaints with the game. I was hoping the patch would be released this morning for the Xbox 360, but no luck so far.

This stuff is laughable;http://www.pastapadre.com/2011/11/17/first-videos-of-nba-2k12-legends-showcase-dlc-in-action#more-50794 (http://www.pastapadre.com/2011/11/17/first-videos-of-nba-2k12-legends-showcase-dlc-in-action#more-50794)

Why would they make it look so awful?

That is pretty bad. I don't really care about the DLC though because the regular game is monopolizing what little game time I have lately. I've had the game for a few weeks now and still have the urge to play it everyday.

Roster updates and patch info: Kotaku.com (http://kotaku.com/5864826/the-lockouts-end-brings-peace-to-nba-2ks-holiday-season)

Roster updates will come more frequently than they have in the past, Boenisch said, accounting for both the influx of rookie players and any changes in free agency or pre-season trades, which began on Wednesday. Instead of waiting until the final day before the regular season tip-off, Boenisch said the game will push roster updates as frequently as possible over the next three weeks. That kind of update comes totally through the 2K Sports server and isn't subject to the kind of review Microsoft or Sony has for a game patch or title update. A patch still is coming before Dec. 25, Boenisch said, but he held off on committing to a specific date.

Apparently the patch is out in Europe. There's a chance it may be available here this week:

Ronnie2K via Twitter:

Either way, that should tell you that it's very close. I couldn't see it slipping past this week but I did say 10-14 days Thursday.
