Title: Rumor: Batman Arkham Remastered Collection Arriving This Summer?
Post by: Jason on February 03, 2016 @ 12:51:51 PM
There was noise about a remaster of Batman Arkham titles of the previous generation for the current PS4 and Xbox One consoles, but it largely dissipated.

Now, additional rumors have surfaced that a remaster of the games is still in development. The rumor comes from an anonymous source close to the dev team of Batman Arkham games in Rocksteady who told Unseen64 member Liam Robertson (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwPLVuIlFRM) of the matter.

According to Robertson, the release of the remaster could be closer than expected; it is expected to be scheduled for launch in Summer 2016.

The remaster will feature 2009’s Batman Arkham Asylum and 2011’s Batman Arkham City. Arkham Origins won’t be a part of the remastered collection as it wasn’t developed by Rocksteady.

The Arkham series is widely regarded as one of the all-time best superhero-based games in the last decade, with fantastic character design, voice-acting, and highly engaging storylines. Despite this, last year’s Arkham Knight received mixed reviews, as its disastrous launch on PC eclipsed what was other a good gameplay experience.

How credible is this rumor? Unseen64 have certainly unveiled quite a few good things, but take this one with a pinch of salt. There’s no need to make room on your ‘remasters’ shelf until official news comes out.

I really hope this is true. I still get stuck playing these games with my youngest son on a regular basis and would love remastered versions on the PS4. I'm disappointed Arkham Origins won't be part of the collection though.
